Welcome to Ideal Aerosmith's Inaugural e-newsletter. Ideal Precision™ is our new tool, designed to improve our communications with you, our customer, and to inform you of the exciting things happening at Ideal Aerosmith. Three to four times a year, we will provide you with succinct articles of interest about new products, new motion and test applications, application notes, and occasional articles about the great employees of Ideal Aerosmith.

In Early 2005, Ideal hired the staff of Carco Electronics, boosting the technical expertise and market reach of Ideal Aerosmith. Several of the new products and program awards that you see in this issue are direct results of the contributions made by these new Ideal associates in Pittsburgh and Menlo Park. We look forward to building on their achievements.

As a result of our new customers, employees, and facilities, Ideal has organized itself into three business divisions that are closely aligned with the market niches that we serve. This will help us serve our customers more quickly and efficiently as we continue to grow. Read the details here.

Please forward this to associates who may share an interest in Inertial Systems, Missile Guidance, and Avionics Testing. If you are not part of our mailing list and you would like to receive this newsletter, click here to subscribe. If you no longer want to receive this email, simply unsubscribe. We appreciate your interest in our company.

Cost Effective UAV Hardware-in-the-Loop Flight Motion Simulation System

Click for Larger ImageSimulate low dynamic UAV flight profiles with the Ideal Aerosmith Model 1573-FMS Three-axis Motion Simulator. The system can be driven directly from Flight Simulation computers that output real-time pitch, roll, and yaw data at frame rates up to 256 Hz via RS-232 or IEEE-488 interfaces.

The 1573-FMS system features typical bandwidths of 25 Hz in roll, 12 Hz in pitch, and 7 Hz in yaw. The standard system allows unlimited rotation in the yaw axis, and +/- 185 degrees of freedom in pitch and roll axes.

Test Electro-Optic Systems with 2- and 3-axis precision motion & positioning systems

Click for Larger ImageIdeal Aerosmith has designed a broad array of 2- and 3-axis positioning systems for testing military Electro-optic seekers, FLIR pods and cameras, targeting systems, etc. Typically these systems are mechanically customized to suit unique UUT test requirements including unobstructed Field of View and access for liquid coolant lines. Often, sinusoidal motion or broadband white noise motion (for frequency response and power spectral density tests) are required and are easily simulated with Ideal's motion controllers. Contact us to discuss your application.

Ideal Delivers SATCOM Test System to Dassault

Click for Larger ImageLast month representatives from Dassault Falcon Jet, of Little Rock AR, traveled to Ideal's Test Services facility in Phoenix AZ to inspect and take delivery of a SATCOM (Satellite Communication) Test Bench that was conceived, designed, and built by Ideal Aerosmith. The Test Bench will be used to configure, test, and troubleshoot SATCOM, telecom PBX, and office-in-the-sky (network routers, fax machines, handsets, etc.) avionics systems prior to installation in Falcon business jets. Having this capability will greatly reduce the time to configure and troubleshoot these installations on the aircraft itself, thereby speeding Dassault's delivery process.
