Ideal announces Rockwell Collins Automatic Test Equipment contract

Today Ideal Aerosmith, Inc. announced that it has been awarded a contract from Rockwell Collins, Inc. to design, develop, and deploy Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) to support Rockwell Collins' new eTESTM in-flight entertainment (IFE) system. The total potential value of the award is $3.9M over a two year period. The contract covers the development of test requirement specifications, the design of an automated test system, and the development and integration of test program sets to test several eTESTM line replaceable units (LRUs). The contract also covers the delivery of multiple test systems to Rockwell Collins' production line and Rockwell Collins Aviation Services centers around the world, as well as training and logistics support.
The test system will maximize the use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) test hardware and software. It will utilize National Instruments' TestStandTM customizable test executive, and will provide a solid, cost-effective platform for long-term support, expansion, and future modification.

Ideal Aerosmith has installed a team of test engineers inside the Rockwell Collins facility in Pomona, CA to work side-by-side with Rockwell engineers and provide concurrent test development.
