Ideal Aerosmith's 5-Step Process to a Complete Test Solution
Jim Richtsmeier talks about Ideal's Total Solution in this video.
Our “Total Solution” concept provides for a comprehensive end-to-end test solution
approach, allowing Ideal to deliver the optimum test solution for build-to-print,
reverse engineering, obsolete parts replacement, custom design requirements or turn-key
products, including a full line of motion test solutions.
True to our mission as a total solution provider, Ideal Aerosmith continues to innovate
by developing new capabilities, new technologies and new architectures. Jim Richtsmeier,
Senior Vice President for Business Growth & Technology, explains in this short video
how Ideal Aerosmith is helping our customers gain a competitive edge from the very
early stages of product development through manufacturing and final sustainment.

Ideal Aerosmith Delivers Three-Axis System to ACAMP
The Model 2003HP at the ACAMP test facility with (From left) Kevin Yallup – CTO,
ACAMP; Bill Smith – Field and Integration Engineer, Ideal Aerosmith and Koshy Matthews
– Product Engineering Manager, ACAMP.
Ideal Aerosmith is pleased to announce the completion of successful customer acceptance
testing and delivery of a Model 2003HP Three-Axis Automatic Positioning and Rate
Table System to the Alberta Centre for Advanced MNT Products (ACAMP). ACAMP is a
not-for-profit organization funded by the Alberta provincial and Canadian federal
governments to stimulate development of Micro- and Nano- Technologies (MNT) in Western
Canada.
ACAMP representatives, Dr. Kevin Yallup, CTO, and Mr. Thomas Clement, Development
Engineer, recently visited Ideal Aerosmith’s Pittsburgh facility to participate
in the Model 2003HP factory acceptance testing prior to system shipment. Dr. Yallup
commented, “Ideal Aerosmith was very responsive and cooperative throughout the entire
procurement process, which contributed to a successful project for ACAMP”.
The Model 2003HP is a high dynamic, precision motion system configured with an integral
Thermal Chamber to provide Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) test capability over
a wide temperature range. This system is available for lease at the ACAMP facility
by Canadian and international clients with applications that require characterization
and testing of various inertial navigation system designs.
The table is controlled by Ideal’s patented AERO 4000™ motion controller; it provides
the most advanced digital servo control available in the global market. Ideal designed
the AERO 4000™ to provide state-of-the-art digital technology for “next-generation”
precision motion control and high-dynamic applications. There are several key features
of the AERO 4000™ Motion Controller that simplify its operation and maintenance:
Easy to use
- Based on Windows Embedded Standard 2009 to minimize operator training
- C#, Visual Basic and LabVIEW VI examples provided to simplify host computer programming
- IEEE-488, RS-232 and Ethernet remote host interfaces
Simple Configuration
- Uses COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) technology to provide the lowest life-cycle
cost of ownership
- Distributed software architecture to provide maximum performance/flexibility
- Distributed hardware architecture which reduces wiring while improving accuracy
and reliability

Affordable Solutions
Ideal Aerosmith understands that purchasing new equipment may not be the right option
for your company all the time. For these situations, Ideal has been continuing to
increase our refurbished and lease unit options. Refurbished units often provide
both pricing and leadtime advantages compared to a new system. Refurbished units
undergo component replacement or repair as necessary, including an upgrade to an
AERO 4000™ Controller for larger units, and always include an Ideal Aerosmith warranty.
Leasing is an option that can provide you with budgetary and testing flexibility
by distributing your payment schedule, and if your short term requirement becomes
long term, you can apply a percentage of your lease payments toward purchasing the
lease system.
As our available inventory is continually changing, please contact Ideal Aerosmith
sales personnel directly, or refer to the
Lease and Refurbished Systems section on our website for the most current
list.
