Ideal Aerosmith to deliver Three-Axis System, Available for Lease
Ideal Aerosmith’s 2003HP with optional thermal chamber
Ideal Aerosmith was recently selected by Alberta Centre for Advanced MNT Products
(ACAMP) to supply a Three-Axis Automatic Positioning and Rate Table System. The
Ideal Aerosmith Model 2003HP with integral LN2 Thermal Chamber will be used to support
the endeavors of ACAMP’s client base. The rate table will be installed in ACAMP’s
Calgary facility in the fall of 2010 and will be available for lease to clients
within Alberta, across Canada, and internationally as a facility for the characterization
and testing of inertial measurement units (IMUs).
The 2003HP is a high-dynamic, high-precision system. The motion table utilizes brushless
motors for high torque and optical encoders for precision feedback. The table is
coupled with Ideal’s patented AERO 4000™ motion controller, providing the most
advanced and capable digital servo controller on the market.
Alberta Centre for Advanced MNT Products
The Alberta Centre for Advanced MNT Products (ACAMP) is a not-for-profit organization
funded by the Alberta provincial government and the Canadian federal government
to help companies develop new Microstructure and Nanotechnology (MNT)-based products
and to stimulate the development of MNT industries in the Alberta region. ACAMP
works with clients from early-stage prototyping through the eventual commercial
launch and early sales of products. ACAMP uses a simple fee-for-service model for
working with clients and can offer engineering and business support, access to equipment,
training on equipment, and full characterization services for its clients.
One of ACAMP’s major initiatives in 2010 is to implement infrastructure and expertise
and then help companies develop inertial measurement units (IMUs). ACAMP has a number
of manufacturing capabilities and manufacturing partners, who are capable of building
MEMS-based inertial measurement devices and integrating them into IMU systems. ACAMP
is supplying one of the missing pieces in the product development
chain – Ideal Aerosmith’s high-dynamic 3-axis rate table for characterization and
high-precision testing of IMUs. To contact ACAMP: www.acamp.ca
