Ideal Retains Carco Electronics Technical Talent

May 17, 2005

On January 3, 2005, Ideal Aerosmith offered employment to all forty-one employees of Carco Electronics at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Menlo Park, California. Forty of the Carco Electronics engineering and support staff chose to join Ideal Aerosmith. This additional talent - the most important asset of Carco Electronics - gives Ideal Aerosmith a strong and experienced resource that is being tapped to provide exciting new products and services for its growing customer base. As Ideal's president told these former Carco Electronics employees, "You have brought the heart, mind and soul of Carco Electronics to Ideal."

Ideal Aerosmith has now opened new facilities in Pittsburgh, PA and Menlo Park, CA to house its new resources. Ideal's traditional strengths in quality management and process control together with improvement, and ISO 9001:2000 Certification have been quickly introduced and are being integrated into the new facilities. It is Ideal's policy that all facilities must utilize implemented Six Sigma methodology and achieve valid ISO Certification.

Pittsburgh:
The Pittsburgh engineering staff has deep roots in the inertial motion simulation business that goes back to Fecker Systems, Goerz Optical, and Contraves IGTS. During 2004, this staff successfully delivered a 3-axis High-Frequency Flight Motion Simulator with 70 Hz bandwidth and 2-Axis positioning systems for testing FLIR targeting pods.

The Pittsburgh facility will focus on the electric Flight Motion Simulator market and the high accuracy multi-axis rate table market.

Menlo Park:
The Menlo Park Staff came to Ideal Aerosmith completely intact. This group has a history of designing and building 3-axis and 5-axis hydraulic Flight Motion Simulators, Radome Boresight Error / Antenna Pattern Measurement Systems, and hydraulic Aero Fin Loaders. During 2004 they built very high performance 3-axis hydraulic Flight Motion Simulators and upgraded other systems. They will continue to focus on hydraulic simulator upgrades and new hydraulic systems.

Ideal Aerosmith engineers at East Grand Forks, Minnesota, had begun designing a new controller and were very pleased to have the key designers at Carco Electronics join that effort. The result of combining these two groups is the newest generation motion controller in the industry -- the Ideal Aerosmith AERO 4000.

The experience and enthusiasm of our new talent, coupled with Ideal Aerosmith's attention to business and quality details, should leave our customers with no doubt that Ideal Aerosmith will continue to deliver the most challenging motion simulator projects.

Legacy Carco Electronics /Contraves-Goerz Table Support
Ideal Aerosmith now has the most experienced field support personnel in the industry. Ideal offers top quality service, calibration, and refurbishment to older Carco Electronics and Contraves-Goerz rate tables and flight motion simulators.
