Alex Illes Retires at Ideal's Pittsburgh Facility

Alex Illes celebrated his retirement May 17th in Pittsburgh with his family and the employees of Ideal Aerosmith.
Alex Illes has a long history as a Mechanical Assembler starting in his native country of Hungary at Csepel Machine and Tool Company. He escaped Hungary in 1957 where he was a Freedom Fighter in the Hungarian Revolution.
Ideal Aerosmith has been honored to have the full-time services of Alex since January, 2005. We are particularly pleased that Alex has offered his services on an as-needed basis for the future. Alex's offer has been accepted and Ideal is providing him with a special, private office with area for his personal tools. Lonnie Rogers, Ideal's president states, "I am personally honored that Alex has chosen to continue to offer his services to our company. It has been my privilege to serve with Alex at Ideal and I look forward to our personal relationship continuing into the future."
Alex Illes:

Arrived in the United States of America in 1957 and was employed by Fecker on Hamilton Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Fecker was purchased by American Optical where Alex was instrumental in building many gyro test tables.

Was employed by Goerz Optical where he assisted to build the first 3-axis air bearing gimbals system for Holloman Air Base in 1967.

Continued working for Goerz Optical which was purchased by Kollmorgen in 1970, which was in turn was purchased by Contraves in 1974. One of Alex's achievements at Contraves was assisting to build the first 5-axis hydraulic simulator for the Japanese.

Became an employee of Carco Electronics in 1996.

Joined Ideal Aerosmith in 2005.
